UKRAINIAN RAIL AWARD 2021
Recognition of leaders in railway industry
The winner of the voting was awarded the UKRAINIAN RAIL AWARD 2021 during the grand opening of the exhibition on October 20.
WINNER:
AURUM GROUP received Ukrainian Rail Award – commissioning of a wheel and roller shop meant for a full cycle of freight car repairs
PRIZE WINNERS:
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of France, Alstom – an intergovernmental agreement on the supply of 130 electric locomotives by Alstom for a total value of 900 million euros. The localization of production is 35 per cent. Winner in the category Attraction of investments and rolling stock renewal
DMZ Karpaty – a covered car of a model 11-9983 and a dump truck (dumpcar) of a model 32-8525 certified for full-scale production. Winner in the category Manufacturability and innovation.
UNI-LAMAN GROUP – the first container train from Guangzhou (China) to Odessa (Ukraine). Winner in the category Development of rail transport.
FINAL ROUND
The final voting for the winners of the qualifying round takes place from October 1 till October 19. The project with the most votes will be recognized as “The Project of the Year” and will be awarded the UKRAINIAN RAIL AWARD 2021.
QUALIFYING ROUND
The potential winners of the UKRAINIAN RAIL AWARD 2021 will be selected by voting until September 30. There are three categories for projects to compete for the award:
Attraction of investments and rolling stock renewal
Ukrzaliznytsia and Kryukov Railway Car Building Works – renewal of passenger cars (order of 100 passenger cars)
Ukrzaliznytsia and KORAIL (Republic of Korea) – grant financing of pre-feasibility study to construct Euro gauge in Ukraine

The Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, Ukrzaliznytsia and Stadler, SERV (Switzerland) – agreement on export financing to renew trains in Ukraine
Manufacturability and innovation
Kryukov Railway Car Building Works – design and test of a dump truck (dumpcar) of a model 33-7141 and a three-axle cart of a model 18-7142
Kryukov Railway Car Building Works – full-scale production launch of flat cars of models 13-7138 and 13-7138-01
DMZ Karpaty – a covered car of a model 11-9983 and a dump truck (dumpcar) of a model 32-8525 certified for full-scale production
Aurum Group – commissioning of a wheel and roller shop meant for a full cycle of freight car repairs
Nikolaev Locomotive Repair Plant – development of the locomotive microprocessor control and diagnostics system
Schwihag AG – certification of a new type of rail fastening in Ukraine
Electrotyazhmash – a granted right to maintain and repair traction electrical equipment for Ukrzaliznytsia
Kyiv Electric Car Repair Plant – renovation of suburban electric trains
Development of rail transport
Ukrzaliznytsia and Ukrainian Locomotive Company – the first agreement on the trial admission of private locomotives to the railway
The Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine – amendments to the coefficients applicable to the tariffs of the Collection of Tariffs for Transportation of Goods by Rail
Ukrzaliznytsia – restoration of the railway connection with Prypiat
UNI-LAMAN GROUP – the first container train from Guangzhou (China) to Odessa (Ukraine)
Modern Way Ukraine – the first container train from Chongqing (China) to Kyiv (Ukraine)
Ukrzaliznytsia and Metinvest – long-term car rental contracts: a 3 year operation of gondola cars at a minimum rate

UKRAINIAN RAIL AWARD 2020
WINNER:
Global Ocean Link was recognized as “The Project of the Year” for a regular container train on the route Ukraine – Northern Europe.
AWARDEES:
Nibulon attracted investments and purchased grain carriers built at RMF “Karpaty”.
Nikolaev Locomotive Repair Plant completed the first modernization of the 2TE10M mainline locomotive.
Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine – the decisions of the Committee had a noticeable impact on the transportation market of Ukraine.
UKRAINIAN RAIL AWARD 2019
WINNER:
Aurum Group was recognized as “The Project of the Year” thanks to boosting the car-repair capacity of Ukraine by launching a new car-repair depot.
AWARDEES:
Nikolaev Locomotive Repair Plant implemented the first modernization of the TEM7 locomotive.
TAS-Logistic – the railway operator attracted investments in rolling stock renewal
CRRC Corporation Limited – the engineering corporation won the Audience Award
UKRAINIAN RAIL AWARD 2018
WINNER:
UPEC Industrial Group was awarded the Ukrainian Rail Award for “The Project of the Year” dealing with the development and production of innovative TBU 1520 cassette bearings for high-capacity car axle-boxes.
AWARDEES:
TIS Group of Companies implemented the project “Organization of regular container trains from/to Yuzhny port”. Regular container trains run from TIS to Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro and Ternopil every week.
JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” was awarded for the project “Launching a new Beskidy Tunnel” which is of strategic importance for Ukraine.
